Partygaming Internet Poker deal
Partygaming have been on the aquisition trail in recent times with purchases of online bingo prooms and a series of deals with state controlled operators. The latest deal will see the company provide an internet poker product to the French state controlled bookie PMU.
PMU which is the abbreviation for Pari Mutuel Urbain has an extensive network of outlets that cover France and have apparently got over 6 million customers. This is a major coup for Party gaming as Poker players signing up to this product will be able to take advantage of the player liquidity on Party Pokers French Poker product.
Jim Ryan the CEO of Partygaming had the following to say “Today’s agreement with PMU is consistent with our stated strategy of securing a small number of high value partners in regulated markets,” PMU is widely recognised as one of Europe’s leading betting businesses and we look forward to providing them with a world class poker service.”
Expect further news re aquistions from the online poker behemoth in due course. It seems that the Poker industry is ripe for takeovers and mergers and we are wondering what is happening with the Bwin/Partygaming merger.
