January 22nd, 2010

The Microgaming powered Poker Network is supporting the Haitian Health Foundation and is encouraging poker players to join the network in donating money to aid the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

The earthquake that hit Haiti on the 12th of January was the biggest ever to hit the country in the last 300 years and has caused mass devastation with millions of people left homeless and suffering.

On 22nd January the Microgaming Poker Network will host a €10+€10 buy-in tournament where the €10 fee will be donated entirely to the Haitian Health Foundation and will be used in disaster relief in Haiti. Microgaming Poker Network has committed to match all funds raised from the tournament.

Players wanting to participate in the tournament can register from any of the Microgaming Poker Network operators; the tournament starts on 22nd January at 6:30 GMT. The operators in the Microgaming Poker Network include Ladbrokes Poker, 32Red Poker, Royal Vegas Poker, Spin Palace Poker amongst others.

The Haitian Health Foundation was established in 1985 and has been actively assisting the country that was declared to be the poorest nation in the Western hemisphere. Over 92% of the funds collected by the Foundation goes directly towards services for the poor, so players can be assured that donations generated from the tournament will be used to maximum benefit. Donations for the Haiti relief fund can also be made directly at www.HaitianHealthFoundation.org.
