Italian Poker Network launched
The world’s largest provider of online gaming software, Microgaming, has announced the launch of a new poker network designed specifically for the Italian online market. After a successful beta testing period, the company announced that the product is now available to Italian online poker players who can access all of Microgaming’s poker tournaments.
The company has worked closely with local partners to ensure that the back office systems as well as support services have been suitably customised to meet the needs of the Italian market and ensured that all regulatory standards have been met with. The first operator to join the new network is Ladbrokes Poker and Microgaming is in talks with other online casinos that are keen to have a presence in a new market.
Microgaming CEO, Roger Raatgever said, “The launch of Microgaming’s Italian Poker Network is another example of Microgaming bringing the highest global standards to local markets. We have worked tirelessly to ensure that the new poker network is fit for purpose to meet the needs of the Italian player-base, as well as the Italian regulatory standards.
“The initial offering of poker tournament games to the network’s player community represents a solid foundation upon which to build, and Microgaming is currently working within regulatory parameters to develop the poker games portfolio further.”
Microgaming is confident that they are on the right track to establish a leadership position in a market that is rapidly opening up to the outside world. Italy is an important region for the future of gaming in Europe, as it has set the standard for other countries wishing to introduce gaming regulations”
