Fox Poker Club, the latest acquisition of Genting Casinos

The news of the acquisition of Fox Poker Club by The Genting Group stirred quite a ripple in the online poker community.  Genting Casinos UK Ltd. has become the new owners of the highly popular Fox Poker Club, although not a peep has been heard about the sum involved in this take over.

The Fox Poker Club was founded by Ian Hogg and Chris North at a time where the online poker industry was flourishing.  The idea behind the creation of the Fox Poker Club was to provide poker players with a club right in the heart of London.  The project started to bloom in 2005 and it took three years to obtain the full UK Casino license which would allow it to operate legally.  The club finally opened its doors in September 2010 after a fundraising brought in some £1,000,000.  Till today, the Fox Poker Club has continued to grow and thrive with over 20,000 members.

The acquirer, Genting Casinos UK Ltd. is the largest owner of casinos across the UK with a total of 46 casinos.  With this new club in hand, The Genting Group now owns a total of 47 UK Casinos.  Amongst their primary casinos are Maxims, Min and Circus.  Genting also operates the Palm Beach Casino which hosted the WPT London Main Event.
